Entrepreneurs know how beneficial social media marketing can be… But sometimes it’s hard to know what to post on Instagram or how to create engaging content. If you struggle with posting consistently (which hinders your ability to create engagement on social media), this post is for you!
Here are 6 Instagram post ideas you can add to your social media content calendar today!
Share your “Why” or Brand Mission
This post is the perfect way to attract your ideal client and repel someone that might not be the right fit for your business. By sharing your “why” or brand mission statement, you’re letting your audience know who you serve, what you offer, and why you do what you do! This kind of post doesn’t have to be long or stuffy. In fact, short and sweet is the way to go!
When I shared my mission, I highlighted what my brand mission is and who I love to serve. By pairing the caption with a picture of myself, this doubled as an introduction post!
The Client Spotlight
You have happy clients, so why not highlight them? The client spotlight is when you share a recent success story or client testimonial. Using positive reviews in your Instagram posts can help you establish credibility and trust with potential clients. You can either use a text box with the quote typed out, or you can highlight your work and use the client testimonial as your caption.
If you want to go one step further, I’d recommend incorporating video testimonials into your marketing efforts!
Show Where The Magic Happens
Humans are naturally curious, so behind the scenes posts perform well on Instagram! Do you work from home and have a designated space with a desk? Do you get most of your work done from the couch? Does your barista know your order by heart because of how often you frequent a local coffee shop? Do you have a co-working space that you use for client meetings and consultations?
Share a picture of your workspace and let your followers know a little about your routine! This is a great way to share some personality… But it’s also ideal for letting your clients know what they can expect when they meet with you or visit your office.
Share a Pro-Tip
One of the best ways to build your brand is to set yourself up as the expert in your industry. By creating educational or informational content, you show off your expertise and remind your clients of why they need a professional!
When it comes to brainstorming tips you can share on Instagram, think frequently asked questions you receive or the pain point your client deals with. You can start your caption with something like “The one thing I get asked about the most is (fill in the blank)” and jump into your topic.
Want to see some examples of how to share pro-tips on Instagram? Here I shared 3 ways I see people self-sabotage on Instagram… This approach shares “juicy” content while giving solutions to the proposed problems. Another example is this post where I share tips for how I encourage my clients to prepare for a branding session. I opened the caption by validating that preparing for a photoshoot can feel intimidating, followed by 3 actionable tips! Lastly, I shared a quick, one sentence tip. Pair this with a picture portraying what you’re talking about, and you’re good to go!
About Me / Introduction Post
Want to know the best way to increase engagement on social media? Post a picture of yourself! If you’re looking for a little more engagement, then you have got to get in the photo. People love to work with those that they know, like, and trust. And allowing people to get to know you on social media is one of the best ways to make that happen.
Here’s the deal… I know it feels awkward to share about yourself and to write a caption all about you. There are a lot of ways to do this though, so I want to share some of my favorites (with examples linked)!
- Share 5 of your favorite things
- Let your followers in on a few fun facts about yourself (Got a fun hobby? Any quirks? Love sports and want to share about your favorite team?)
- Share a round up of what you’re looking forward to that week or month
- Share how you started your business (Or quit your job, steps you took to grow your business, your entrepreneurial journey, etc.)
- What are you reading? You can’t go wrong asking for book recommendations or sharing a recent read!
The Client Experience
Last but not least, share about your client experience and what makes your business unique. What is your unique selling point or value proposition? What sets your process apart from your competition? Are you offering a new product or service that you could highlight on social media?
Create a post that highlights what your clients can expect from you (from start to finish). The best thing about this kind of post? You can create a mini series out of it and split it up into multiple Instagram posts.
