How to find the perfect locations for your Nashville brand photos

When choosing a location for your Nashville brand photoshoot, it’s important to consider your personal style and the vibe you want to create in your photos.  (Hint: Pinterest is my favorite catalyst for this process!)

For example, if you’re a health coach promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle, the local farmer’s market or park might be perfect for you! This kind of setting allows you to capture pictures of you shopping for fresh produce, exercising, or relaxing in nature… All while showcasing your brand message.

Alternatively, you may want to consider shooting in your home office, studio space, co-working space, or even a staged model or rental home. Here, we can capture some shots of your day-to-day tasks or go behind the scenes of your business.

Think through what you want this branding photoshoot to accomplish (upcoming product launches, seasonal content, or top-of-mind photos you need) then narrow down the location from there. Note: know that you cannot capture all aspects of your business in one photoshoot, so keep that in mind when brainstorming!

Once you’ve thought through your photo list and vibe, it’s time to research locations or landmarks around your city that would fit your aesthetic! For my Nashville clients, I’ve done the work for you – keep reading for a list of some amazing loaround Nashville for a brand photos!

9 Locations for Your Nashville Brand Photoshoot

Whether you’re planning your first Nashville brand photoshoot or you’re capturing recurring content for your website and social media, here are some of the best places to take your personal brand photos in Nashville.

Downtown Nashville Brand Photos and Popular Spot Around Town

Urban areas offer a vibrant and fun backdrop for brand photos that can capture the essence of your city. Downtown Nashville is no exception! You can take advantage of the city’s unique architecture and bustling streets to create a dynamic and lively look for your brand photos. Highlighting your city is perfect for local businesses, realtors, and other brands that have a large focus on working locally.

There are a lot of popular spots such as War Memorial Auditorium, the downtown library, and iconic landmarks like the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and Lower Broadway. These locations can provide a perfect urban backdrop to showcase your brand’s personality and add a touch of local flavor to your photos.

You can also look into other areas like trendy neighborhoods (such as SoBro or East Nashville), long-standing sculptures, and local cafes. These spots offer a unique and memorable setting for your photos, while also allowing you to highlight the dynamic  nature of Nashville.

Nashville Streets with colorful walls and iconic murals

If you want to add a pop of color to your photos, look for streets with colorful walls and doors. These locations provide a fun and vibrant backdrop that can make your brand photos stand out. Keep an eye out for murals, graffiti walls, and vibrant doors, as they can be an ideal choice for creating a unique and eye-catching headshots. The Gulch and 12th South are two of my favs for Nashville murals!

The Gulch is a trendy neighborhood known for its upscale boutiques, chic restaurants, and modern architecture. This hotspot provides a contemporary and stylish backdrop for your personal brand photoshoot. While you’re there, make sure to go see one of the most famous murals in the area! “What Lifts You” features a set of angel wings and it’s such a fun backdrop for photos.

12th South is another neighborhood that’s perfect for infusing personal brand photos with Nashville’s quaint southern charm. Its iconic “I Believe in Nashville” mural has become a must-visit spot for visitors, and the various other murals scattered throughout the neighborhood provide a unique backdrop for headshots. A visit to the Draper James store (and Five Daughters Bakery) is also a must!

Local Parks, gardens and Farmers Markets

Nature is a great way to incorporate a sense of serenity and calmness in your brand photos. Parks, gardens and farmers markets provide a natural and organic look to your photos. You can use the greenery as a natural backdrop, while the flowers can add a pop of color to your photos. Plus, the farmer’s market can provide fresh produce and goods for your photoshoot.

Centennial Park is a favorite with its picturesque pond, walking trails, and beautiful gardens. The park’s Parthenon replica also makes for an iconic backdrop for headshots and portraits. Radnor Lake is another popular spot amongst my branding clients. I’ve had therapists, business coaches, and life coaches use Radnor Lake as a scenic backdrop for their photos.

In addition to parks and gardens, Nashville’s Farmers markets serve up fresh produce and fresh photo opportunities alike. The Nashville Farmers Market is a hub of activity, with vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to handmade crafts. The market’s colorful displays and bustling atmosphere make for great photo backdrops. Tip: You can find a Farmers’ Market in nearly every neighborhood in Middle TN, all showcasing local artisans!

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful park setting or a lively market scene, Nashville’s natural spaces offer a wealth of photo opportunities. Incorporating these local gems into your brand photos can provide a fresh and organic feel that’s sure to stand out.

Your Home Office

As the trend towards remote work continues, home offices and studios have become the new norm for many entrepreneurs and creatives. But beyond being a functional workspace, your home office can also serve as a personalized backdrop for your brand photos.

Whether you have a dedicated room or just a corner of your home, taking photos in your home office can give your brand a personal touch that sets you apart from the competition. You can showcase your work environment, your creative process, and your personal style all in one shot!

When setting up your home office for a brand photoshoot, incorporate elements that reflect your brand and aesthetic. This could include displaying your work or tools of your trade, arranging plants or decor, or using unique lighting or angles to capture the essence of your space.

Nashville Co-working Spaces

Co-working spaces are becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. They offer a modern and professional backdrop for your brand photos, with their sleek design and professional atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a co-working space that offers a touch of luxury and sophistication, look no further than The Sapphire Suite and Collective615. These high-end co-working spaces are designed with the modern professional in mind, with sleek and stylish interiors that are sure to impress.

The Sapphire Suite offers a chic and contemporary space with plenty of natural light, making it perfect for capturing bright and airy photos. The space also includes private offices, meeting rooms, and a variety of seating options, allowing you to showcase your brand in a professional and comfortable setting.

Meanwhile, Collective615 provides a more feminine and cozy atmosphere, with gold and pink accents and a brick interior. This space is perfect for capturing a more relaxed and casual vibe, while still maintaining a professional and polished look.

When it comes to capturing your brand at these co-working spaces, the possibilities are endless. Whether you’re looking to showcase your team in action, highlight your work environment, or simply capture a professional setting outside of your own office, these spaces can provide the perfect backdrop.

Local Coffee Shop, Bookstore, or Hotel (as Long as They’re Okay With It!)

If you’re looking for a cozy and inviting atmosphere, consider taking photos at a local coffee shop, bookstore, or hotel lobby. These locations can provide an eclectic and creative backdrop for your brand photos, with their unique decor and ambiance. However, make sure to get permission before shooting at these locations.

A hotel bursting with bold colors and bright florals is The Graduate Nashville. With plenty of nods to Dolly Parton, this is the perfect spot for a feminine brand photoshoot laced with Southern spirit.

For something more historic, Union Station may be your cup of tea. This former train station-turned-hotel boasts a grand lobby promoting a timeless and elegant style to your brand photos.

Some of Nashville’s favorite coffee shops, should you choose that route, are Barista Parlor, 8th and Roast, or Frothy Monkey

Utilizing a cafe or hotel for your brand photos allows you to showcase client meetings, work sessions, or team meetings in a non-office setting, making your personality shine through. If you have a go-to coffee shop where you work every Tuesday, utilizing it for brand photos is a great way to showcase your lifestyle.

Clubhouse of an Apartment Complex or a Staged Model Home

Clubhouses of apartment complexes or staged model homes can be a great option for creating a modern and polished look for your brand photos. These locations are designed to showcase modern decor and amenities and can be ideal for creating a luxurious and high-end look for your Nashville brand photos.

These settings are perfect for Nashville realtors since we can show off any staging or behind-the-scenes of the selling process. However, this backdrop can be a great option for any business since there is often so much variety (pools, gyms, meeting rooms, etc.).

Nashville Photo Studios for Brand Photography

Sometimes a Nashville studio is the best option for your brand photoshoot location. Unlike outdoor or public spaces, studios give you a controlled environment with consistent lighting, minimal distractions, and the flexibility to style the space to fit your brand. If you want polished, distraction-free images that can work for everything from website headers to marketing campaigns, a Nashville photo studio might be the right choice for your photoshoot.

Kairos Studio is a true blank slate, making it perfect for headshots, team photos, lifestyle content, and more. The clean, neutral setup allows your brand colors and personality to shine without competing with the background. Some of my favorite sessions here have been for a web designer, a boutique owner, and an online educator… All of which show just how versatile the space is.

Ampersand Studio is another great option if you’re looking for more variety in one location. This coworking space includes a photo studio as well as access to offices, furniture, and lobby areas, which means you can get everything from professional desk shots to bold backdrop portraits and even casual coffee shop-style content. I’ve shot here myself and was impressed by the number of unique setups in one place.

A short term rental (Airbnb or an hourly rental)

Lastly, short-term rentals such as Airbnb, VRBO, or hourly rental spaces can be an exceptional option for brand photos (Peerspace.com, Home Studio List and avvay.com are great sites to find your next photoshoot location!). These locations offer a variety of styles and decor options, from modern and industrial to bohemian and vintage. Plus, you can often find unique features such as swimming pools or fireplaces that can add a special touch to your photos.

These rentals can be an ideal option if you’re looking for an inviting homelike atmosphere, without the pressure of cleaning, organizing, or decorating your own space to fit the style of your photos.
