About Elizabeth Events

I started Elizabeth Events in January of 2018! The start of my company is a little bit out of the ordinary. I started a Nashville event planning company while I was in college in the small town of Cleveland, TN. I went to Lee University to get a business management degree and took some event planning classes along the way. At my school, the girls try to get a “ring before spring”, so after having a few friends get engaged and ask for my planning help, I thought I might as well start Elizabeth Events. In 2018 I did four wedding and in 2019 I did 18 weddings. It grew faster than I could have imagined and I love getting to make my clients feel like a guest on their wedding day. I have since graduated and I run Elizabeth Events full time.

What is your favorite part of what you do and what do you love most about Nashville wedding days?

My favorite part is developing relationships with my clients. I have a consultation before booking so I can make sure that we are going to be a great fit for the whole planning process. It is so important to have a good relationship with your planner! I love being able to walk alongside couples during this exciting, stressful and overwhelming time. I’m able to be their advocate and be someone that they can trust and lean on. I also love seeing all of the hard work come to life on their wedding day and watch them enjoy the night that took us months to get just right.

My favorite part of the wedding day is right after the grand entrance when my couples are officially married and celebrating their first dance. At this point, all the heavy lifting of set up is officially over and the nervous jitters from my bride and groom are over and they are so excited to be married. This is when they let loose and let the celebration begin!

What is one piece of advice you have for couples planning their Nashville weddings?

There are so many things I could say! I guess a huge thing is for them to let their wedding coordinator take the reigns and be okay if things do not go exactly as you had planned for them to. Be in the moment and focus on the time with your family and friends, and be less concerned on if the cake got there on time or if the welcome sign is in the exact spot that you planned on. There is so much that can change or happen on a wedding day and it’s your planner’s job to navigate those obstacles that come up. We are professionals and it makes the day run so much smoother when couples let their planner do their job (which is make your day the day of your dreams) and they focus on what really matters.

What do you recommend brides look for when booking a Nashville wedding planner?

My biggest piece of advice when booking a planner is to book them based off the connection and professionalism they bring to the table instead of price. Obviously, everyone has a budget and you cannot book a $10k planner with a $2k budget… But instead of looking for the cheapest planner in Nashville look for one that’s in your range, connects with you, responds to you in a timely manner, and gives you a secure feeling of placing your big day in their hands. So many people try to save every penny when it comes to their vendors and in this case it’s worth spending a little bit more on a planner whom you trust and have a great relationship with rather than save money and be hesitate about your planner.

When you’re not working on planning and coordinating weddings, what do you do for fun?

I love hanging out with my boyfriend Brady and our Golden Retriever, Maverick! I’m also a big sports girl. You can catch me watching football, hockey, or whichever other sport is in season!

What is one of your favorite or most unique wedding requests you’ve received?

The first thing that comes to mind relates to all of this COVID-19 craziness. I had a couple switch from their big church wedding to a small elopement on a cliff in Chattanooga. My job was to help everyone walk down this mountain to the elopement site + make sure that random hikers did not walk down and “crash” their elopement! It was such a fun time & the pictures turned out amazing.
