Nashville Date Night Ideas

February 1, 2020

I see you, all my sweet, newly-engaged ladies. Up to your ears in wedding planning resources and stressed from all the decisions and options. You officially have my permission to take a break! Same goes for you newlyweds who are feeling a little bored, and those of you who have been married a while and need a break from your kiddos. Nashville is a perfect city for a fun date night, and I’ve got you covered!

Live Music in Music City

They don’t call Nashville “Music City” for nothing! There are a wide variety of places to hear some tunes, but The Bluebird Cafe is my top pick. The venue is tiny and very popular, so you may want to make a reservation. The Bluebird is known for their “in the round” style performances, which make for an intimate and personal experience. As is always true in Nashville, you never know who will show up for an open mic night at The Bluebird Cafe!

Cocktails at Bourbon Sky

If you want the best view of our ever-growing city, take the elevator at the JW Marriott up to the 34th floor! The chic bar has a panoramic view of downtown and features movable glass walls, so you can feel the breeze on a pleasant evening. Sip on a craft cocktail and look out over the Nashville skyline from your perch high above the city.

Play a Round at Topgolf

Topgolf Nashville is one of the most fun experiences around, even for novice golfers! You can choose how challenging your game is, so there’s fun for every skill level. Trust me, even if you’ve never swung a club, you can still sink a shot! They also have pretty delicious bites and drinks, so you can make a full night of it. Nothing says “true love” like beating your soul mate at a game of golf.

Explore the Nashville Farmers’ Market

The expansive Nashville Farmers’ Market is open year-round! Conveniently located in Germantown, you can shop the open-air farm sheds for fresh, seasonal produce and other food items. Browse the locally-owned shops in the Market House before grabbing a delicious lunch at one of the wide variety of restaurants. Check out their calendar of events to see what fun things are happening now!

Stroll through 12th South

My favorite little neighborhood in Nashville is definitely 12th South. Head to this booming spot for some fun at Sevier Park, homemade popsicles at Las Paletas, some of the best restaurants like Burger Up, Edleys BBQ, and Flipside, and some shopping!

Get the “Meat and Three” at Monell’s

Monell’s is the quintessential Southern dining experience in Nashville. If you haven’t been before, you’re really in for a treat, although you may want to skip breakfast before indulging in this hearty fare. They serve all their food family-style, the plates piled high with green beans, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and all kinds of other delightful dishes.
