If you’re a business owner, you probably know the struggle of keeping everything straight financially. Personally, an accountant was the first person I wanted to hire when I was able. Sophie Plappert is the founder of SJP Services Group, a Nashville virtual accounting and bookkeeping firm for small businesses, non-profits, and entrepreneurs. She has completely changed the way I see accounting. Sophie uses modern technology and systems to work efficiently, communicate with her clients effectively, and simplify the accounting process – and I’m all about simple!
Brand Photo Goals
Sophie isn’t your typical accountant, so she wanted to really stand out among those in her field. Since she is a virtual business, she also wanted plenty of professional photos to use on her social media to engage with potential clients. She’s also been able to use the photos on her website to create consistency across her brand.
Personal Brand Photoshoot Process
We took Sophie’s brand photos right where the magic happens – her Nashville home office! As a mom, it was really important to Sophie to be real with other mompreneurs about her work at home life. We got to include her daughter, also known as SJP’s “director of fun,” in a lot of the shots. (How cute is a toddler with office supplies? Keep scrolling to see for yourself!)
When I work with a client who’s getting their brand photos done for the first time, there’s a lot of ground to cover. While trendy murals or stylish AirBnbs have their place, it’s sometimes easier to keep things simple. That way you won’t forget any props such as your laptop, office supplies, or outfit changes!
My favorite thing about the brand photos we captured is that they are feminine and fresh. Theses pictures are unique to Sophie, and they aren’t options she would’ve found on a stock photography site.
The Results
All of the photos Sophie received showcased her style well. As an accountant, everything she does is organized and professional, but that doesn’t mean her pictures had to look stuffy or traditional. Together, I think we found a really good balance of professional, approachable, and relatable brand photos.
So far, Sophie has used these photos to build up her social media presence and to enhance her website. People buy products from other people, so when selling a service, it’s important that we showcase your personality in your photos, so your potential clients can really get to know you.
