Bible Verses We Wrote In Our New Build Home During Construction

September 8, 2023

Are you looking for Bible verses to write during construction for a new build home? 2023 has been a year full of blessings. One of the biggest ones is that we started building our new home. It felt like the opportunity came out of no where. And I’m still catching up to fully understand how we got here. But from the moment we realized we would be building our new home, I knew I wanted to write some of my favorite Bible verses on the framing during construction.

Blessing Our New Home and Writing Bible Verses on the Framing During Construction

Unless someone offers me an amazing deal on a piece of land that comes with some chickens and a couple of rescued barn animals… I don’t plan on moving again. That’s why I wanted to leave a mark on the framing, and also ask the Lord to bless our home and plans for our family for this next season.

We had such a special time on Labor Day weekend filling the new build house with my favorite verses and blessings. I also invited my parents to join us. They were just as intentional when picking what to write on the walls of the new house. From the mud room to the living room, and the front entryway to the upstairs halls… Every few steps you could find a verse if you looked.

This new house has office spaces for both of us, multiple bedrooms upstairs that we hope to fill with guests and kids, and a bigger yard for our dogs to run in. I picked out Bible verses for each room, and was thoughtful with what I wanted to write over those spaces. I’ll list out some of my favorite verses that we chose to write during construction below.

Bible Verses We Wrote In Our New Build Home During Construction

Entryway Door Frame

Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. – Deuteronomy 28:6

Foyer

Peace be to this house. – Luke 10:5

For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat. – Psalm 147:13-14

My Home Office

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.  – 2 Timothy 1:7

This is actually one of my all time favorite verses, and I have it as the background on my desktop too. Entrepreneurship can feel like a wave that you ride sometimes, and this verse quiets my anxious heart in busier seasons.

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. – Romans 15:13

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men. – Colossians 3:23

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her! – Luke 1:45

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. – Proverbs 16:3

Upstairs Hall

He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. – Mark 10:13-16

Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. – Psalms 22:30

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. Not as the world giveth, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – John 14:27

Mud Room

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace. – Numbers 6:24-26

Kitchen and Dining Room

They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. – Matthew 14:20

They broke bread and ate together with glad and sincere hearts. – Acts 2:46

For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. – 2 Chronicles 7:16

Living Room

I remain confident in this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. – Psalm 27:13

By wisdom, a house is built and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. – Proverbs 24:3-4

His mercies are new every morning. – Lamentations 3:23

Peace be within your walls, And prosperity within thy palaces. – Psalm 122:7

Bedroom

My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. – Isaiah 32:18

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.
- Psalm 4:8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. – Matthew 19:6

Garage

‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty. – Hagai 2:9

The Lord will keep you from evil, He will keep you safe. He will protect you as you come and go, now and forever. – Psalm 121:8

There are so many more bible verses you could write for your new build home. These are just a handful of the ones we wrote.

Our Goodall Homes Construction Process

We chose to build our new home in Tennessee through Goodall Homes. We’ve been so happy with the building process, and it’s truly been an enjoyable experience. The day we went to sign the contract to start the new build process, I asked if we could walk out to the home site one last time. Our sales consultant, Emily, walked out with us. To our surprise there was a rainbow directly over our home site.

I was anxious about making such a big decision. But that rainbow felt like a sign that we were taking the right step in faith. I’m so grateful the Lord knows exactly what we need and when we need it, and He shows up for us in tangible ways.

This new house is a dream through and through. I can’t wait to get to call this place home before the end of the year.

I’m a photographer in Nashville who specializes in milestones and family memories. Documenting this construction process has brought me so much joy. I’m grateful I’ll have these memories to look back on. If you’re a family in Tennessee and are building a home, moving or experiencing a big milestone or life transition, don’t forget to capture it! I’d love to come alongside your family and capture your next milestone. You can learn more about Nashville lifestyle family photography here.
