Walter and Sarah | Intimate Multicultural Wedding at Ellington Agricultural Center

July 21, 2021

It was such an honor to capture this intimate, summer wedding at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, TN. Walter and Sarah’s love story spans 15 years, and it’s a special and unique one that joins two different cultures and countries together.

Sarah and I immediately connected when she reached out about looking for an elopement photographer in Nashville. I’ve lived in Latin America for the majority of my life and I always went to international schools growing up. Coincidentally, Walter and Sarah first met in 2006 in Honduras where Sarah was teaching abroad at one of the international schools. Their love story includes years of long distance, patience and a sweet reconnection. But at the end of the day they’re able to say, “Siempre fuiste tú,” or, “It was always you.”

Walter and Sarah got married on Saturday, July 10th surrounded by their closest friends and family in Nashville. The gazebo in the Iris Garden at Ellington Agricultural Center was the perfect spot for this intimate wedding. Although it was a small, in-person celebration, Walter and Sarah were celebrated virtually by many! The couple exchanged vows while broadcasting the ceremony to Facebook so loved ones in Honduras and Canada could join in!

It was so special to witness their wedding in-person, and it was heartwarming to see how others travelled to be with Sarah and Walter on their big day. Sarah’s parents flew with her to Nashville from Canada, and Walter and Sarah’s close friends from their time in Honduras, Donray and Alisa, were able to join them in person as well. Sarah also delicately honored her grandfathers on her wedding day through her cremation necklaces.

One of my favorite details was the beautifully decorated ceremony site with avocado-dyed linens and wildflowers picked and arranged by One Wild Flower Designs. I also loved Sarah and Walter’s bilingual wedding ceremony! When they exchanged vows they read the same vows to each other, Sarah’s in English and Walter’s in Spanish. There were many more special details and moments, but you can find just a handful of my favorites below!
