Wedding Florist Headshots and Branding Photos

January 13, 2020

I loved working with Dana from One Wild Flower Designs for her creative headshots and personal branding session in May! Dana is a Nashville based wedding florist that I am lucky enough to work with through out the year, so I loved partnering with her for this session.

Discovery and Session Goals

While we were planning Dana’s floral filled personal branding session, she knew she mainly needed pictures for her website and some images she could use on social media. Since she is a wedding florist, she has a lot of pictures of her work from the weddings she is a part of. What she was missing were pictures of herself and good shots of her inventory like vases and ribbons.

Personal Branding Process

We started this florist branding session off at Puckett’s Guitar and Cadillac Hall in Columbia, TN. Since One Wild Flower Design is a private floral studio, renting the space at Puckett’s allowed Dana to create a bigger studio space for pictures. We had 2 main areas for photos. Dana set up a table with her inventory and her copper arbor stood behind her with plants hanging from it. And she set up one large wooden table as her work station in front of a white and exposed brick wall.

I absolutely love the images of Dana working! I encourage my branding clients to bring props with them that reflect their work. In this case, Dana wore her grey apron and brought along clippers that we used for pictures. She arranged a couple bouquets while I moved around her to capture different angles and elements of the process. During this creative headshot and branding session, we also captured 3 different outfits which allows for a lot of variety!

My favorite thing about these branding pictures are the different details that she can use to prompt social posts. She has a picture of her clipping stems, tying an on-brand ribbon around the bouquet, fluffing and tweaking flowers, and so much more! To me, these are the types of shots that set apart regular headshots from a creative, personal branding session. Dana is still able to show up on her feed with custom stock photography and it doesn’t always have to be a headshot.

The Results

I absolutely love the joyful, creative, yet professional vibe of this Nashville brand shoot! Dana ended up with so many pictures that show her personality, expertise, and love for her job as a Nashville wedding florist. You can see how Dana has already been using her new branding pictures on her own website and her Instagram page!
