McKenzie and Alex met in the fifth grade and have been dating since their junior year of high school. They recently got engaged while vacationing in Hawaii! The high school sweethearts are in their final year at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga together and are planning to tie the knot next October at the gorgeous Ravenswood Mansion. I’m already getting excited to photograph their Big Day at one of my all-time favorite Nashville wedding venues!

Engagement sessions are the perfect excuse to dress up, and I always encourage my clients to get a little fancy for their shoot! McKenzie’s grandmother sweetly gifted her a new dress for the outdoor engagement session. It photographed beautifully! The couple chose to take pictures in two different outfits, which is always a nice option for getting different styles and vibes from the same photo shoot. If you’re planning on using your engagement photos as wedding décor—table numbers, on a photo table, at the rehearsal dinner—think about the color scheme and style of your wedding before choosing your engagement photo session outfits. 

We chose Radnor Lake and Ellington Agricultural Center as the outdoor locations for McKenzie and Alex’s engagement session. The beautiful, natural setting was the perfect background for all the twirling, nuzzling, cuddling, and smooching! These two were pros at getting cute and cozy in front of the camera, which resulted in some unbelievably adorable engagement pictures. I never get tired of capturing the giggly, giddy love at this special stage in a relationship.
