James and Amanda – Kentucky Wedding at Valor Hall

September 10, 2019

9/6/19 – The Wedding Day

James and Amanda got married this past weekend at Valor Hall Conference & Event Center in Oak Grove, KY. They thoughtfully included several sweet, personal touches throughout their big day, which made for a truly intimate celebration with their loved ones!

Amanda’s parents have both passed away, and she honored their memory and love in meaningful ways. She and James chose to get married on September 6th, as it would’ve been her parents’ fiftieth wedding anniversary. Amanda also wrapped her bouquet in one of her dad’s ties and included a portrait of her parents attached to the tie. It was a beautiful and memorable bouquet!

James gifted his groomsmen with matching cuff links and custom socks. I really love when grooms get creative with their accessories! The couple exchanged gifts of Ingersoll (their new shared last name!) watches before the ceremony. When it was time for James to see his bride, she was escorted down the aisle by her brother and officially “given away” by her four siblings.

The couple’s cute pups made an appearance for photos, and while they didn’t stay to dance with their newly married parents, James and Amanda had an adorable “doggy bag” station for guests to take treats home for their four-legged friends. A fun fact is that James actually proposed to Amanda with the help of their 2 dogs, so I love that they included them in their big day!

The couple took photos with a cute, green VW Bug that Amanda’s mom owned for years. The car is no longer functional, but they had it brought to the venue for a sentimental photo opp. They also included James’s love for Friends with a truly awesome groom’s cake! James dropped a funny Friends reference in his vows, calling Amanda his “lobster,” which they also included in the cake’s decorations. All the small, personal details made their love stand out in the best way possible.

The reception was decorated in a lovely red, white, and black color palette, and the evening’s celebration began with some traditional first dances. James and Amanda shared a dance, and afterward Amanda danced with both of her brothers. It was so touching to see the bond Amanda shares with her siblings! Guests enjoyed the dance floor and some delicious cake before sending Amanda and James off on their Icelandic honeymoon with a twinkling sparkler exit.
