Downtown Editorial Wedding Shoot – Nashville, TN

February 6, 2019

This Nashville editorial wedding shoot is inspiration for couples looking for simple and minimalist details for their wedding day. We styled this wedding shoot at 618 Ewing, and we incorporated a chalk wall design, a floral install, a ruffled cake, acrylic chairs that double as name cards, downtown city vibes for portraits, and some sweet pictures with a golden doodle!

618 Ewing is a venue near downtown Nashville that has large white and black walls. 618 Ewing is blank canvas as a venue, therefore we were able to bring our vision to life! We decorated with a hanging floral install over the reception table and a floral installation on the chalk wall with calligraphy for the ceremony space.

For the ceremony site we used a black chalk wall to create a calligraphy backdrop with foraged plants around it. Our reception table was lined with white and tan linens, and we had clear acrylic chairs serve as the place settings for the guests. Dried pampas grass adorned the center of the table, and crystal goblins, white and black plates, and copper silverware were placed at each setting.

Our bride wore a white beaded wedding dress with a v-cut front and relaxed fitting sleeves. Her cathedral length veil complemented her dress perfectly and added a romantic touch to a unique gown. She held a foraged bouquet that perfectly tied in white roses, pampas grass, dried flowers, and fall leaves. My favorite thing about this shoot is that we included a sweet golden doodle named Annabelle. A lot of my wedding clients choose to include their pets in their wedding, so I loved getting to photograph our bride and groom with Annabelle. She even wore a foraged floral piece around her collar that matched the bride’s bouquet for the wedding day portraits.

One of the most unique things about this shoot is the wedding cake. Our 3-tier ruffled cake had beautiful navy, tan, and white layers on a baby blue base with gold specks. We also had a unique wedding invitation suite that included a hand drawn map with a star to mark the location of the wedding venue.

At the end of the shoot we made our way to the War Memorial in downtown Nashville for bride and groom portraits. As a Nashville wedding photographer, the Way Memorial is one of my favorite spots in Downtown Nashville for portraits, and the white columns and pillars were a perfect setting for this editorial inspired wedding shoot!
