Kelsie and Cody had their engagement session this past weekend in Downtown Nashville. It was a gloomy and rainy day, but Kelsie and Cody were so sweet and embraced the crazy weather. They will be getting married in October in Florida, but they wanted their engagement session to be in Nashville, since that is where they call home.
We started our downtown city engagement session at Printer’s Alley. I love the string lights and neon signs in the alley way! Downtown photoshoots are always fun, because there are so many different textures and colors for backdrops! We headed to Broadway and I had Kelsie and Cody stop in the middle of the crosswalk for a fun Nashville shot with all the bars and honky tonks in the background! We ended their engagement session at the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for some pictures with the cityscape and for some wide shots of the Bride and Groom to be! I always make my couples dip kiss on the bridge, and it usually ends up being one of my favorite pictures!
A fun little backstory- Kelsie and Cody met during a softball game! When Kelsie moved to Nashville 5 years ago, she joined a local softball league. Cody had a part time job as a referee, and he happened to be working during one of Kelsie’s games. Kelsie was up to bat, and when she swung, the ball landed very close to first base. She ran to first base and it was a close call as to if she was out. They called on the referee, who happened to be Cody, and he called her out! I love that their love story started there!
