Michael and Meghan stood in the middle of the dancefloor at Ozari, their Nashville wedding venue, and counted down with the crowd.
“Ten… nine… eight…seven…six…” Their New Year’s Eve wedding celebration was coming to an end with a big countdown to the new year surrounded by their family and friends. “Five… four… three… two… one!” Confetti poppers sent metallic pieces of paper flying, and black and gold balloons dropped from the ceiling. Auld Lang Syne came on over the speakers and couples went in for a new year’s kiss. Friends cheered and sipped from their champagne flutes while others blew their party horns. The party was over, and Meghan and Michael were officially welcoming 2022 as husband and wife!
The whole day leading up to the big New Year’s Eve finale was perfectly planned! Meghan and Michael chose to exchange vows at Holy Family Catholic Church during a mid-day wedding ceremony with close family and friends. Later that night they gathered with an extended guest list at Ozari in Nashville for a commitment ceremony. There they exchanged personal vows and invited their friends and family to join them in a community candle ceremony. The whole reception room lit up as the bridesmaids and groomsmen made their way to each table.
Meghan and Michael’s Nashville New Year’s Eve wedding celebration was full of intentional details and surprises! Meghan and her sorority sisters pinned borrowed and blue badges to the bride’s bouquet. She wore jewelry from her grandmother and had the most amazing rhinestone booties. The guys wore matching socks and black bowties, which perfectly complemented the black mismatched bridesmaid’s dresses. The black and gold New Year’s Eve décor set the theme for the party, and everything from gold tinsel wands to party hats made their way to the dance floor.
For this Nashville New Year’s Eve wedding there was something new planned for every hour leading up to midnight. There was a champagne ladder, hot cocoa bar, Jeni’s ice-cream, a late night pizza bar, and a beer tap wall. There was also a jar of cigars, which quickly became a crowd favorite in the Ozari courtyard.
My favorite moment that I captured on New Year’s Eve for the couple is one that many missed. After the balloon drop, guests made their way outside to prep for Meghan and Michael’s big send off. The room cleared, the dance floor was empty, and as Your Song played, Michael and Meghan shared one final dance together. It was the sweetest private moment just between the newlyweds. After a long day of 2 ceremonies and a big reception party, there was something special about them ending the night alone.
You captured such a fun day SO perfectly! What a treat to relive it all through your lense!
