I recently got to work with Laura to capture headshots and create content for her podcast launch! Aja from Notably Grey  connected us and helped as we planned her outfits, location, and shot list!

 

SESSION GOALS

While we were planning Laura’s personal branding session, she knew she needed pictures to announce the launch of her podcast, Make It Brave. Her main goal was to leave the session with headshots, a few flatlays, and lifestyle images she could post to promote her work.

 

Personal Branding Process

We started this small business branding session at a boutique Bed and Beverage in East Nashville, Vandyke. Laura’s branding for her podcast includes rich green colors and jungle and animal print elements. Vandyke Bed and Beverage was the perfect location for this branding photoshoot because it truly reflect Laura’s brand! The green walls, velvet green booths, floral wallpaper, and quirky design and decor were the perfect addition for her photos!

We photographed 6 different outfit variations. Laura’s gallery has a lot of options to choose from because she did a great job layering her outfits and coordinating different blouses with blazers. I always recommend that my clients think of how to layer their pieces so the pictures don’t all look the same.

Since Laura mainly needed headshots and podcast photos, this wasn’t a “prop heavy” branding session.  Some of the props we did incorporate though were a laptop, podcast microphone, and notebook.

We ended this brand photo session with a few photos by the “Go slay all the dragons” Nashville mural. This iconic Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors mural was perfect to pose with because it embodies everything Laura does through the Make It Brave Podcast!

 

The Results

I absolutely love the bold colors, fun textures, and variety of this Nashville brand photography session for Laura’s podcast! Make It Brave launched  in December of 2019 and Laura has implemented her brand photos so well on her website and on Instagram!
