Dayna was waiting in the loft of The Cordelle. Her mom had recently zipped up her dress and she already showed off her bridal look to her bridesmaids. That first look was vibrant and fun, the girls giggled and celebrated as they saw Dayna step out in her white dress. Now she was quietly waiting for her first look with her soon to be husband.
Thomas and I were making our way up the stairs through The Cordelle. I reminded him to not turn around until I gave him the green light and I prepped him for the first look. When we got to the loft, Thomas stood with his back facing Dayna.
I always love capturing the first look. Whether it’s shared while walking down the aisle, or if it’s pre-planned and scheduled in the middle of the wedding day… The first look is one of my favorite moments to photograph. In this case, Thomas and Dayna chose to enjoy a private first look between the two of them before their ceremony.
When Thomas turned around and saw Dayna in the loft, he couldn’t help but smile. They immediately embraced and you could feel the excitement and giddiness in the room. As I took portraits, anytime I would prompt Dayna to giggle, Thomas would lose it laughing.
Thomas and Dayna’s sage green and navy wedding at The Cordelle in Downtown Nashville was a dream to photograph! There were many handmade and special details that made this wedding extra unique. From the homemade dessert box favors to the sola wood bridal bouquet… The Maxwells perfectly orchestrated every detail.
The Cordelle was beautifully decorated with handmade wooden signs. Dayna is quite the crafter and she made the welcome and ceremony signs, the seating chart, and every centerpiece at the reception. My favorite personal touch were the cookies made by Grandma Podany.
I loved the sage green and navy reception décor! Each table displayed candles and greenery! And there were gorgeous 4-tier cupcake displays with sola wood flower details and a last name topper. The bride and groom planned a traditional wedding reception. After they were introduced, they shared first dances and had toasts. It didn’t take long before everyone joined them on the dance floor to celebrate for the rest of the evening.
