Soon after I quit my 9-5 earlier this year I realized that my home office needed a major face lift. As a full-time photographer I spend many hours working alone at my desk in my home. I love work from home life, but I was definitely longing for a better setting. My goal for this renovation was to create a space that, as Marie Kondo would say, sparks joy (and creativity)!
When I head to my office in the mornings now, I’m excited and motivated to start my work day! Every piece of decor and print on the wall has its own special meaning to me. This inspires me and fuels me with motivation. I painted the room, wallpapered, designed a gallery wall, fused the room with my brand colors, and livened everything up with a few hard-to-kill plants!
This home office renovation was a DIY project that was surprisingly not as overwhelming as I expected! If you are looking for your own inspiration to chic up your desk space or home office, I hope this post sparks some ideas for you!
Here are some of my favorite little details from my office:
-The stack of my favorite books on the bookshelf (do yourself a favor and read The Go-Giver)
-The acrylic clipboards framing the Argentina and Nashville prints
-The feminist art and decor around the room
-The non-toxic, pet safe, and easy to maintain houseplants (I highly recommend a cast iron plant or pony tail palm if you have curious pets!)
-The cubes of my bookshelf that were claimed by my senior cats
