I bet when you think of a personal branding session, a flower truck, cotton candy, sweet tea, and a bicycle aren’t the first things that come to mind. I recently worked with Amanda, a Nashville and Florida based female business owner, to create some fun, summer content for her social media. The best thing about a branding session, is that there is no exact rule or formula to follow. My end goal is to create content for your business that is relevant and consistent with your brand… so that means a fun and creative seasonal session might be the perfect fit!
We started this Nashville personal branding session at the 12 South Farmer’s Market. Amanda chose outfits and props that convey feelings of summer time. For example, she picked fresh flowers from the vintage flower truck, strolled down the park with cotton candy, ordered a sweet tea in a mason jar, and rented a bicycle by Sevier Park. One of my favorite details from this session is Amanda’s lemon print dress while she holds an iced tea with a lemon wedge. This branding session showcases the best of summer in Nashville.
I love 12 South because there are many colorful murals that make perfect backdrops. Amanda changed into a black romper and straw hat, and I immediately thought that the “looking pretty, Music City” mural at Madewell would be a good location for headshots. Those images ended up being some of my favorites!

I loved brainstorming this Nashville personal branding session with Amanda! She originally thought of a downtown shoot with a rooftop or pool. But as we talked through her social media goals and her brand, we quickly realized that this summer themed branding shoot would have better results. See the highlights from this summer branding session below!
Here is what Amanda had to say about her experience of working with a brand photographer:
Mandy is by far the best photographer I’ve ever hired. Not only does she understand my overall brand strategy for my business, but she helps me create and capture photos that attract my target audience through social media. Mandy actually cares that I get it right! It’s refreshing! I’ve done numerous shoots over the last few years. Mandy makes me feel comfortable and confident during the shoot. I always end up with great photos that I’m proud to utilize. She is my go-to photographer and I highly recommend her!!!
