Dan and Katie - Solar Eclipse Elopement - Nashville, TN

Dan and Katie got engaged in May of 2017 and quickly decided that they would have their once in a lifetime event on a once in a lifetime day. Dan and Katie won their wedding from the Adventure Science Center as part of their Elope at the Eclipse promotion. Several engaged couples submitted videos online to be entered in the sweepstakes. The video with the most votes won a wedding at the Galactic Gardens and a special rooftop viewing of the Solar Eclipse! While thousands of people traveled to Nashville to witness the full Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017, Dan and Katie’s family and friends made their way to Nashville to witness a sweet and unique wedding.

Dan and Katie had their ceremony in front of their closest family members- 16 guests to be exact… and all of the local news stations. Their eclipse wedding was televised as they exchanged their vows, and they were interviewed several times throughout the day from both local and international news and radio stations. Even as Dan and Katie walked back up the aisle as Husband and Wife, they were interviewed by the local news.

Dan and Katie’s Nashville elopement had many fun and unique moments. Their first dance took place on the main stage of the Solar Eclipse festival at the Science Center and their “reception” included a private viewing party of the Eclipse on a roof that overlooks Downtown Nashville. They also had Amelia’s Flower Truck truck on site and Katie’s bouquet was from the truck! This sweet Bride and Groom are self-proclaimed nerds and major Star Wars fans, so when they spotted a Storm Trooper walking around the festival, they had to stop to take pictures with him!

Katie had a gorgeous wedding dress that she got at the last minute (less than 48 hours before the wedding) and all alterations were done in less than 24 hours! My favorite little detail is Katie’s stylish midi wedding band that she wears instead of a traditional one (the ring sits above her knuckle instead of a traditional ring).
